Women’s Wellness Exams
At Designs for Wellness, we recommend that every woman should have at least one wellness exam every year, as this enables us to find any potential problems and start treatment before they become too advanced. This visit will consist of a standard breast examination, pelvic exam, and PAP smear. Should we discover anything that could indicate cancer, we’ll organize for you to get a biopsy and diagnosis right away. You’ll also have a chance to share any issues you are experiencing when it comes to your emotional or sexual health, as he can offer solutions that can help with both.
NovaSure® Uterine Ablation
Do you experience heavy bleeding during menstruation, or are your periods extremely painful? Does this cause you to miss social events or work on a regular basis? About 1 in 5 women are currently dealing with abnormal uterine bleeding, but NovaSure can provide relief in as little as 5 minutes without the need for hormones. A small device is inserted into the cervix where it exposes the uterus to gentle radiofrequency waves for just 90 seconds, which ablates the uterine lining, dramatically reducing or stopping any bleeding/pain entirely.
This is a minimally invasive surgery for the removal of a diseased uterus that is performed via the vagina without any abdominal incisions. This means after the procedure, a patient won’t have any telltale scars. As an alternative, our clinic can also perform a Laparoscopic-Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy, which uses small “ports” to guide the surgical instruments right where they are needed. This improves the precision of the procedure and leads to faster healing versus the traditional method.
Pelvic Prolapse Treatment
A pelvic prolapse is a very painful condition that can be the result of childbirth or the vaginal muscles naturally becoming less rigid due to aging. In the past, surgical mesh has been used to put the muscles back into place, but that can lead to many painful side effects, plus it can be extremely difficult to remove the mesh if there is a problem. At Designs for Wellness, we can use a combination of hormone therapy, stem cells, and PRP to help the pelvic muscles naturally regenerate themselves so they resume a normal and comfortable position.
Designs for Wellness uses a temperature-controlled radiofrequency system called ThermiVa® to rejuvenate a woman’s private area in order to improve their health, confidence, and sexual satisfaction. This state-of-the-art therapy can restore the strength of the vagina, reduce or eliminate incontinent episodes, reduce vaginal volume, and increase sensation and functionality without surgery. ThermiVa® is an in-office procedure with minimal, if any, recovery time. After three fast treatments that take about 30 minutes or less, a patient will enjoy the results for up to a year.
Needless to say, an unplanned pregnancy can cause nearly endless problems for a woman, their partner, as well as their family, but at Designs for Wellness, we are happy to offer our patients numerous methods of birth control that can fit seamlessly into any lifestyle. In addition to preventing pregnancy, our selection of contraceptives can also help women regulate their hormones so they can enjoy more predictable and less disruptive periods. Here, we put the power back into your hands when it comes to your life and body.
Menopause Hormone Therapy
Life after menopause doesn’t have to be awkward and uncomfortable. If you regularly experience hot flashes, lethargy, night sweats, vaginal dryness, or a reduced libido, we can provide you with hormone replacement therapy that will help your body work as it did back in your twenties. With just a painless injection or oral supplement, we can bring balance back to your body and your life so you can feel like yourself again.
STD/ HPV Screenings
Our team at Designs for Wellness will look for the signs of common STDs whenever you come in for your wellness exam, but if you ever notice symptoms like dryness, itching, sores, or discharge, don’t hesitate to schedule a screening right away. Most STDs can be easily treated with some medication, and we’ll make sure you’re able to get what you need without feeling judged or embarrassed. It’s also important to get this screening from time to time because a condition like HPV can increase a woman’s cancer risk.
Permanent Female Sterilization
If you’ve decided not to have children, have no more children, or if pregnancy would be too dangerous for your health, then permanent female sterilization is an option. There are multiple ways to accomplish this, and they each involve a quick and minimally invasive procedure. We will be happy to discuss your options with you and won’t pressure you in any way.
PRP Incontinence Injections
Urinary incontinence is a common problem after childbirth and can even develop due to natural aging, mostly because the ligaments and muscles near the urethra become looser and less rigid. We can help revitalize these muscles and ligaments with a PRP injection. PRP, or platelet rich plasma, is a substance derived from your own blood that contains a high concentration of healing proteins and growth hormone. When placed along the urethra, it naturally begins to rejuvenate and strengthen the area, leading to a drastic reduction or elimination of symptoms.
