Samuel Tyuluman, MD.
Dr. Tyuluman was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1952. He is interested in many aspects of science and technology. This started at a very early age with experiments in chemistry, biology and statistics. The practice of medicine revolves around all three of these disciplines and Dr. Tyuluman applies his experiences and knowledge of these fields to his practice of medicine.
After serving in the US Army from 1970-1974, he received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas in 1978. He designed digital communications equipment for Bell Telephone Laboratories and Texas Instruments while doing postgraduate studies in biochemistry and neuroscience at the University of Texas, Dallas. He entered Southwestern Medical School in 1982 and graduated in 1986. His background in systems engineering fit well with the study of endocrinology, especially reproductive endocrinology and obstetrics. He took his specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Parkland Memorial Hospital, which, during his training, was the largest single standing obstetrics unit in the Western Hemisphere, and second in the world to the National Maternity Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. This broad and intense experience has served him well throughout his medical practice.
Since 2013 Dr. T has focused on preventive medicine and surgery. The experience he collected for 30 years managing obstetrics patients (the single most dynamic time in life) has given him great insight into prevention and early intervention to improve the health and longevity of his patients. Designs for Wellnes is a specialty clinic focused on the health of the men and women as they age. Dr. T’s goal is to have all his patients get very, very old but always feel young and healthy.
Dr. Tyuluman is licensed to practice medicine in Texas. He is on the staff of Texas Health Resources, Dallas Presbyterian Hospital and is a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas.
Dr. Tyuluman is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He also holds patents in areas from computer technology to medical statistics.
